Waiting to be known

Star photography in Fryeburg, Maine

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.

Star trail photography really fascinates me. While it looks like the stars are all moving at different speeds, what we’re really looking at is the rotation of the earth on its axis. The axis point is the spot where you can see little to no star movement. The further away from the axis we go, the more star movement we have.

Captured this shot in Maine while camping with some friends this past weekend! The darker the sky gets, the more stars you can see. Eventually all the black fades out and it’s nothing but diamonds above you.
