I like to adventure late at night when it’s quiet and peaceful… one of my favorite locations in the world, which I’ve been photographing for many years, is Gooseberry Island in Westport, Massachusetts.
One of the issues I often run into in Southeastern MA and RI is the amount of noise pollution. The lights from all the cities and towns in the area often plague the skies and make the milky way galaxy extremely difficult to see, never mind photograph.
I took this photo very late one night just as the clouds fled into the atlantic… I hadn’t seen anyone for hours and the only movement was the occasional shooting star.
Adjustments: temperature and sharpening.
